VTG Franklin Mint Great Horned Owl Porcelain Sculpture by G. McMonigle with Base
Franklin Mint The Great Horned Owl Porcelain Sculpture w/ Base. Up for your consideration is this fantastic. By Franklin Mint done in 1988 by artist George McMonigle and crafted in Malaysia. This item measures 13" tall x 10.5" long x 10wide and weighs 5 lbs 11 oz all by itself. The base is 8.5 in diameter. It's excellent condition but their is small gash or mark on one of the wings (see pictures). Not sure if this happened during mfg. Or if it was after and has been repaired but it looks good and is hardly noticeable. Also, one of the leaves on the bottom is a little rough but I'm not sure if it's a flaw or if it was made that way but I like to point it out and I'll let you be the judge. Please see all photos as they are part of the description. I try to point out any flaws that I see but if I miss something it's an oversight and not on purpose.
This piece also has a rattle inside, this happens during the manufacturing process normally when they punch the air hole so that the piece can breath internally and the little punched piece goes inside. That is not unusual for items like this and does not hurt the value of the piece at all. Thank you for your interest.
