It looks Japanese, but it's actually made in Japan in the Satsuma style. The motif is the beckoning cat, a cat that brings good luck.

Designed by Yuki from Japan, it also has the word "Yuki" printed on it, along with a Franklin Mint backstamp on the bottom.
