A little about the Spanish Riding School of Vienna, Austria.. The Spanish Riding School (or Spanische Hofreitschule) of Vienna, Austria, is a traditional riding school for Lipizzan horses. The riding school was established during the Austrian Empire in 1572. It is the only riding academy in the world which has been cultivating the art of equitation in its purest form for over 400 years and which trains both horses and riders according to methods which have been used for centuries! The objective of classical equitation is to study the way the horse naturally moves and to cultivate the highest levels of haute école elegance that the horse is capable of. The result creates an unparalleled harmony between rider and horse. It was named for the Spanish horses that were, and still are, the mainstay of the riding school. Today the horses are bred in a court stud in Lipica (Italian : Lipizza), near Trieste in modern Slovenia and at the Piber Stud in Austria. CONDITION Like New, No breaks, cracks, crazing or chips.
