Madonna of the Magnificat was the first of the Franklin Heirloom Collector Doll. This doll is absolutely gorgeous!

This particular doll was never taken out of the original box, the arms and legs are still in the original protective packaging and so are her hair. The accessories were taken out in order to be photographed (note the stand that comes with the doll was not photographed as it's packed under the doll). This doll was inspired by a painting created by Sondro Botticelli glorifying the imperishable bond that unites mother and child.

Human emotion shines forth in the Madonna's loving expression and in her careful cradling of her infant son. And the child, secure in her arms, gazes at the Madonna with an expression filled with trust and understanding. She is 23 tall with fine porcelain head, arms, and legs on a cloth body. She has handpainted features, beautiful facial coloring, and applied golden wig intricately styled in braids. She comes lavishly costumed in a flowing and elegant Medieval style gown of rich red satin, adorned with trimming of gleaming gold which drapeds gracfully from her shoulders to the floor.

Over her gown, she wears a sapphire-blue crepe cape trimmed in. Around her neck is draped a multi-colored scarf of red. The infant is entirely sculpted from fine porcelain with vibrand painted features and molded golden curls. He is swaddled in chiffon and rests securely in his mother's arms.
