Princess Diana wore this gown on an official visit to Saudi Arabia in 1986. It features the national bird of Saudi Arabia, the falcon, embroidered in gold metallic threads and tiny iridescent sequins, in flight across the bodice of the ivory crepe gown. The original Catherine Walker gown, called the "Gold Falcon Gown", is currently on display throughout 2017 at Kensington Palace in London. It is being featured at an exhibition called "Diana: Her Fashion Story", which coincides with the 20th anniversary of her death.
