The clock has a quartz movement by Franz Hermle & Sohn. I just put a new battery in and it runs perfectly. The clock is finely painted with flowers and ribbons in pinks, blues and purple. The four horses that make up the carousel are also hand painted and very detailed.
They spin in each direction. The clock comes with a glass dome and is 7.5 tall. Underneath the base is a bolt mechanism to lock the rotating carousel while in transit. You need to loosen the bolt so the carousel will spin. The Certificate of Authenticity is included as well as operating instructions.I do not have the original box.
