Inspired by this bittersweet tale, The Franklin Mint is proud to present these dolls so exquisite in their design that they seem to retell the emotional story of Romeo and Juliet without words. Their faces are crafted in fine bisque porcelain and entirely painted by hand.
Their hands are of bisque porcelain and sculpted in such a way as to allow the "Lovers" to touch and hold hands. Juliet wears an elegant gown of plush red velvet with a white brocade insert. The sleeves of red velvet and white brocade are puffed and banded in a renaissance style. The V neckline has a gold trim with a white pleated insert. There are 3 tiny pearls on the bodice where the V neckline comes together.
A golden braided cord is tied around her waist. The undergarments are of white cotton edged in lace.
Her hair is plaited and entwined with gold cord. Along her forehead are tiny pearls and golden beads. Romeo is dressed as a Renaissance youth in a sleeveless doublet patterned with golden thread, a silken chemise, suede boots and a plumed toque hat. Juliet stands approximately 16 inches tall and Romeo is approximately 18 inches tall. The dolls are mint and come with a stand, in the original box and with the original packaging.
The back of the doll is stamped Franklin Heirloom Doll. NO MORE OF THESE WILL EVER BE CREATED.
